The Course Directors

Deborah O’Grady

Deborah has worked in brand marketing for over 20 years, working with big brands such as Hugo Boss, Silentnight beds, First Direct and Irn-Bru. She’s worked agency and client side, advised agencies and owned her own.

Deborah’s misson is to bring an entrepreneur’s dream to life to help shape it and create a lasting, successful brand. Taking you through the same steps as the big brands she ensure you’re positioned correctly, speaking to the correct audience and helps you find that special something that sets you apart. Whether it’s just a business idea you have or you’re a fully functioning business, Deborah gets to the heart of your business, reveals key insights and helps you craft your story.

Jo Swann

The founder and Director of Chocolate PR and a PR coach to clients globally, Jo launched Chocolate PR nearly 15 years ago, after working in media, marketing and PR agencies, to challenge the way PR was being done by the bigger agencies as clients were being served up terrible experiences through ineffective retainers and inauthentic agencies. With Chocolate PR she set out to produce accessible, effective PR services using creativity and imagination alongside journalistic skills to generate visibility for clients. She has worked with companies of all sizes including the likes of Whistles, NSPCC, learndirect, Marriot Hotels, Yo! Sushi, Dale Carnegie, Skipton Building Society to name just a few and won many awards along the way but her mission now is to help small businesses, and particularly female entrepreneurs harness the power of PR. She is passionate about supporting small businesses in making PR work as a cost effective, creative marketing medium, to help them tell their story and have fun doing it. Having carved a niche in helping female entrepreneurs tell their story and harness the power of PR Jo’s on a mission this year to knowledge share more than ever to help women feel more comfortable with PR and understand how they can use it.
