Yo Sushi

The Brief

Yo! Sushi was launching in York and needed a creative Yorkshire PR agency to help them make an impact, particularly with students and young people within the city. It was imperative the brand was seen to engage locally as there was skepticism about such a brand entering historic York.

The Strategy

PR stunts around the streets of York took place on launch day, inviting people into the restaurant on that day, for tasters.

Creative interactive elements include the Wheel of Fortune with the chance to win vouchers and prizes, alongside flash mob style dance troops making shoppers stop in their tracks and engage with the brand, to create buzz and social media content.

VIP launch events were also organised engaging with key city stakeholders and press.

The Results

The restaurant was full on launch day, on launch evenings and the activity also provided a steady stream of new customers throughout launch week and ongoing thanks to the vouchers distributed alongside the PR stunts.
Yo! Sushi was accepted into York by key influencers who had been wary of a ‘chain’ brand entering a historic city such as York.
