Today we are going to be talking about how you can craft your PR content – content that will connect based on who you really are and what you care about. This is all part of a proactive
PR approach, when you pitch your ideas to journalists for consideration.
The place to start when proactively pitching to media is deciding what you say. We have to think about what is your message and what is the thing that you want to be known and recognised for?
I challenge you in this episode of PR Powerhouse to imagine yourself as a caricature and in doing that, try and think about what unique and distinct things would be associated with you as an individual.
Finding your PR message involves a bit of digging deep and thinking about what brought you to where you are today. We like to call this, mission-led Public Relations as it revolves around the objective of finding and honing your niche which can then be tailored into media pitches to different journalists.
In this episode, I also share an interesting concept from the global bestselling author and speaker, Todd Henry who coined the concept of “Knowing your notables”. Using this concept, we can figure out what you feel truly passionate about and what you would like to change about the world.
What You Will Learn in This Episode:
- How to connect with your own unique message
- How to be consistent and focused with your message
- How to use your message to create PR content
- Tapping into your emotions and the concept of “Knowing your notables”
Shaping your message can be a up and down journey of self-reflection, understanding and empathy towards yourself as an individual. Go deep and see what you find! x
