Float Away with Us
In light of research showing that women are more susceptible to stress than men, we helped the owners of Leeds’ ultimate relaxation centre, Float, host an exclusive women only event at their centre this month.
On Thursday August 4, a mother and daughter evening hosted by Yorkshire's favourite writer Kay Mellor, and actress daughter Gaynor Faye, offered a chance for women from across the region to unwind and enjoy chatting to others about the best ways to relax from their hectic lives.
Experts from Float were on hand to offer demonstrations and current customers were on hand to talk to about the benefits they have found from this relaxation technique.
Dr Fiona Jones, a University of Leeds researcher from Institute of Psychological Sciences, said: "Research has shown that women are more prone to ‘work related anxiety', than their male counterparts. One reason for this being that many working women juggle their day job, with the role of a wife or mother, so on leaving their day job women come home to even more stressors.
"It is therefore suggested that women have a greater need for ‘time out' and creating a good work/life balance. A recent journal has shown that the effects of floatation could benefit stressed women and even increase vigour and creativity."
Kay Mellor said: "Based in Leeds, and being the only Floatation centre for miles around, Float is a well kept secret that needs to be uncovered. I had a wonderful relaxing experience, de-stressed and it left me in a state of total bliss-fantastic."
Having been in Leeds since October last year, Float is a true haven which everyone needs to know about and we're working with Float to help them introduce thier services to a range of target audiences.
An enticing fact on floating....one hour's float is equal to four hours unbroken sleep!!!
