130 CHEERS FOR 130 YEARS!
On this special day, organised with Chocolate PR, the charity brought together young people and adults from both deaf / blind and non deaf / blind communities, in a celebratory event of life in Leeds, to commemorate this anniversary, and tap into hopes for the future.
Leila West from Leeds Society for Deaf & Blind People, said:" We wanted to run this event so that we could celebrate with the city our 130th Birthday. Over the years we have been involved in the lives of thousands of Leeds families and we will continue to be here to support others in the future. Children obviously play a huge part in all our futures, and we wanted to raise awareness of our work, both in their eyes, and in the public eye.
Great local coverage was received in the media, and the event also proved a success for the Society, in many other ways, something they are looking to feature in their Annual Report.
